Assignment Overview

For this assignment, you will create a draft of some assessment in Canvas that you will use for the course you are working on.  Since this is just a first draft, don’t worry if you do not have all of the information finalized.

 Focus on your unit objectives and how you will assess students progress.   Do not worry about schedules or content or any other course components at this time.

Reasons for this Assignment

• Learning outcomes describe the learning that will take place across the curriculum through concise statements, made in specific and measurable terms, of what students will know and/or be able to do as the result of having successfully completed a course.  How will you evaluate students on the successful completion of your corresponding unit objectives?

Step 1: Build the Assignment in Canvas

Based on your assessment strategy, please choose one or more of the assessment tools options below and create at least one assignment, discussion or quiz for your showcase module.

This submission allows for you to submit that work for additional feedback and review.   The specifics of that submission should include the following information (or at least the start of those ideas).  

• What artifact are you assessing?   Examples could include:  project, research paper, reflection, exam, group presentation, discussion board, etc.
• What do the students need to do?   Clear instructions to student
• Relevance to purpose of module -- how does it align to your unit or course objectives?  
• Grading parameters
• Feedback parameters
• Rubrics (when applicable)
• Self-assessment (if appropriate)

Step 2: Submit Assignment

Once you have completed building your assignment in your Canvas course.  

1. Click the Submit Assignment button on the right sidebar of this Assignment page to open the submission area.
2. Link the URL to your Canvas course.
3. Click the Submit Assignment button found below the comment box to submit assignment.

Once submitted, you have completed this assignment. Your facilitators will review your submission and offer you feedback.
